6.Father, before this year runs out, please, give me a dumbfounding miracle, that will make me to forget that I had ever suffered before, in Jesus' name.

7.Father, give me a miracle, before the end of this year, that will announce itself; miracle that cannot be hidden, in Jesus' name.

8.Father, empower me by Your grace to always give unto You, sacrificially, my time, labour and substance; and, as I do, let me be rewarded with dumbfounding miracles, in Jesus' name.

9.Father, let all my outstanding blessings and rewards, for my labours in Your vineyard, be released now, in Jesus' name.

10.Father, bless your son, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye; and, bless his ministry, home, and family (biological and spiritual), forever, in Jesus' name.

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

MESSAGE

There are miracles and there are miracles. There are miracles that people hear about and just shout 'halleluyah' for shouting sake; they are not moved. There are some other miracles by which the recipients are rendered almost speechless because they are enjoying joy unspeakable (I Peter 1:8). There are yet some other miracles that are so wonderous that the recipient would find it hard to believe and thus conclude that he or she must have been dreaming. Finally, there are frightening miracles. These are those where the recipient becomes so frightened that he or she may even attempt to run away.

Many years ago, God provided a Mercedes Benz car for one of our elderly pastors in The Redeemed Christian Church of God. This is somebody who never completed elementary education and never dreamt that he would own any kind of vehicle, not to mention a Mercedes Benz. When my driver took the car to him and said, "Sir, this is a car for you and you will have your own driver, fully paid for" he asked, "What kind of joke is this?" "I'm not joking, this is coming from the General Overseer". He turned from my driver and began to walk away. My driver followed him, saying "Sir please take the keys" but he increased speed. He had gotten a miracle that frightened him. This month, God will give you a miracle that will frighten you, in Jesus' name.

In our Bible Reading for today, we see the template for getting frightened miracles. Peter had just fished all night and caught nothing. Of course, he must have been very tired and frustrated, but someone came to him, asking to use his boat and he said, "Yes" without charging Him rent to at least make up for the fruitless night he just had. Peter gave a sacrificial offering that day and Jesus in return gave him a miracle that frightened him so much that he told the Lord to stay away from him. In 2 Chronicles 1:6-7, Solomon gave a sacrificial offering and God made him the richest and wisest king that ever lived.

If you can do what no man has ever done for God, He will in return give you what He has never given any man.

MESSAGE

The Almighty God sent His disciples out in Luke10:1-6 to preach in households. He gave them so much power just to preach to families - not to organise crusade. He gave them power to preach to households because no platform where you can preach to people is small at all. As long as there is one person to listen to the gospel of the Lord, the platform is big. 

In John 4:6-30, Jesus preached to only one woman. It was in the course of that conversation that He gave the powerful revelation that, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). While many may have regarded preaching to just one person as a small platform, Jesus Christ said preaching to her was His meat (John 4:32-34).

I went to preach in a small rural Church which had no building. My children snapped the picture of me preaching there and put it on the Internet and many people were surprised. I, on the other hand, wondered why people were surprised. It may have been a small Church, it may have been situated in a rural area, but as long as there was someone, just one person there that l could lead to Christ, l gladly went there to preach. In the Bible reading for today, Jesus concentrated a lot of effort into winning that woman's soul and she brought the city to Him. That little gathering that look like a small platform probably has the next Adeboye in it. I am a village boy from lfewara. However, from that village, God won one soul to Himself and that one soul is now bringing millions of souls to His kingdom. Never underestimate any opportunity to win soul. Every platform given to you to preach the word of God is big

How many people do you have following you on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and so on? How many email addresses and phone numbers do you have on your contact list?  All these are great platforms through which you can reach people for the Lord. The next Billy Graham may be on one of these platforms of yours; God may be counting on you to win that one soul to Him. Don't waste that big platform you have: use it.

KEY POINT 

There is no such thing as a small platform when it comes to preaching the gospel.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: DON'T LAUGH

MEMORISE:

“Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:” 

Proverbs 24:17

READ: Proverbs 24:17-18 (KJV)

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

MESSAGE:

God’s standards sometimes appear tough to live by, but when you adhere to them, you would soon discover that they ultimately work in your favour. One of such standards is in Matthew 5:44:

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

He said you should love your enemies. Believe me honestly, if you really have enemies and know them, you will agree with me that loving them would be a hard thing to do. Nevertheless, you must love them. In verse 45 of the same Matthew 5, the Lord said:

That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

In other words, if you don’t love your enemies, then you are not a child of God. If you laugh at your enemies in their day of calamity, then you are not a child of God. That is why you cannot make fun of your enemies when things are going badly for them; it is an attribute of the devil. Worse still is if you are cursing the fellow and praying that things go bad for him; you cannot do that and still call yourself a child of God. In Romans 12:14-15, the Bible says:

Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

That passage did not say rejoice when your enemy is weeping, or weep when only your friends are weeping. Should there be days when your enemy is weeping, be there to comfort him or her. Pray for them that their weeping will end soon. Don’t be happy at the fall or calamity of someone else; that is not an attribute of a child of God. The Bible reading says that if you rejoice at a person’s downfall, God would be displeased with you.

Don’t annoy God.

KEY POINT:

5.I plead the blood of Jesus over my spirit, soul and body and I cover myself, family, children and properties, with the blood of Jesus.

6.Father, let the blood of Jesus that was shed at Calvary avail for me and my family, at all times, in Jesus' name.

7.I declare that I bear in my body the mark of the blood of Jesus Christ, therefore, I am untouchable by the powers of darkness, in Jesus' name.

8.Father, make me coals of fire in the hands of my enemies; and let my life become too hot for demons to hibernate or operate, in Jesus' name.

9.I cover myself, loved ones, and all that concerns me with the blood of Jesus.
