READ:  Daniel 2:1-19  

1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar 

Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.

2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.

3 And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream.

4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

6 But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof.

7 They answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it.

8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.

9 But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof.

10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king's matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.

13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.

14 Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:

15 He answered and said to Arioch the king's captain, Why is the decree so hasty from the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.

16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.

17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:

18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

MESSAGE:

Our Bible reading for today tells the story of a king who had a dream he couldn't remember on waking up. He summoned his wise men to tell him his dream and the interpretation, but they couldn't. This made the king angry and he ordered the killing of all the wise men in his kingdom. This order would have affected Daniel and his companions as well, so he  quickly asked for some more time as he was confident that God would reveal the dream and it's interpretation to him. Daniel prayed with his companions and God revealed the king's dream with its interpretation to him. This made Daniel say in Daniel 2:21: "And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding".

I have good news for students reading this now: that particular subject that you find difficult is the one in which you will get a record-setting score, in Jesus'name. Every believer operating in any sphere of life needs God to reveal concealed things to him or her. In 2 Kings 6:9-20, Elisha was the saving grace of the king of Israel. If it wasn't for Elisha, the king would have run into the ambush set for him by the king of Syria.

If you are a politician or just someone in governance, you need to pray to God to always reveal concealed things to you. Business men also need

God to reveal concealed things about their respective businesses to them. In fact, God promised in Isaiah 45:3:

And l will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of  secret places, that thou mayest know that l, the LORD, which call thee by the name, am the God of Israel?

There are hidden riches in secret places that you need God to reveal to you. He could reveal such to you as an idea, but the moment you pursue it, you would discover great riches in it. A man with financial challenges prayed to God for help and the Lord told him to start making honey-coated peanuts. The man obeyed the Lord and now flies around in his own private jets.

Father, please reveal great secret to me that will change my life for good in Jesus name.

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. 

Matthew 19:29

READ: 2 Corinthians 9:6-8  

6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

MESSAGE:

God's banking system is a unique one. It is not like the banks we have in the world, where you have to deposit money before you can withdraw. The banking system of the world deducts interests and fees such that you would only be able to withdraw less than the amount you deposited. In God's banking system, all you need is a relationship with Him - the Owner and you can get permission to withdraw from His bank. For some, He could give as much as they can carry per time, while for yet another set, He would just let them withdraw what they need per time. I don't know about you, but l want Him to give me unlimited access to withdraw from His bank.

In 1 Kings 17:8-16, there is the case of a widow who gave her last meal to the prophet of God and from that day on, for over three years, there was abundant supply of food in her house every single day. That was unlimited withdrawal. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, there was another widow who was in serious need. The Lord granted her access to withdraw oil from His bank and as soon as she had filled all the vessels she had, the supply of oil stopped. That was withdrawal according to her capacity. In Matthew 17:24-27, when some people asked Peter for Jesus' tax, the Lord told Peter to go fishing and pick money for their taxes from the mouth of the first fish he would catch. That was a case withdrawal according to the need at hand.

My Father-in- the-Lord- PA Josiah Akindayomi, the founder of Redeemed Christian  Church of God told how, one day, he cried to God for provision of food and the Lord said, "Tell your wife that from that pot of soup, she should go on dishing every day, but she must not look inside". He told his wife what the Lord had said and from that day, there was unlimited supply of all kinds of soup from the pot, until the day she was overcome by curiosity. She looked into the pot and found it empty. His was also withdrawal according to the need at hand.

Beloved, to be able to make withdrawals from God's bank, you must first and foremost establish a relationship with Him by accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior.

KEY POINT

If you want God's unlimited resources, you should be ready to give Him your limited resources.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. 

Ephesians 3:20

8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

MESSAGE:

Some people think they have God all figured out. They think they know all that there is to know about Him and how He does His things. After several encounters with God, a lot of sufferings for His work and even episodes of being stoned and left for  dead while preaching the gospel, Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:10. "That l may know him, and the power of his ressurrection, and the fellowship of his suffer, being made conformable unto his death.

When you go for a service, how much you get from it can be limited by your expectations. If you expect that Pastor will mention your own particular case and he doesn't, that is not proof that God has not answered prayer. God can decide to work loudly or quietly; all He request from you is faith, not an analysis of how He will work. He expects us to walk by faith and not by sight (Corinthians 5:7).

There was a testimony of a lady who was  born with so many abnormalities- including having one lung  instead of two, and her heart being on the right side of her chest instead of left. As such, she struggles with her health from the day she was born. Finally, somebody recommended a hospital in Dubai, but she decided to go to the Holy Ghost Service first but nothing special appeared to happen in relation to her case during the service. Afterwards, she went on to Dubai as she had planned. When she got there, the doctors examined her and had to ask what she actually came in for, because they could not see anything wrong with her. She thought the people there didn't know what they were saying so she went to another Hospital in Dubai. They also examined her and said there was nothing wrong with her. The Doctors could not believe that she was the same they had read her case note from Nigeria because they could see her heart on the left and she had two lungs, not one. If she had assumed that, because l had not mentioned her case at that Holy Ghost Service, then God was not interested in her, she might have missed her miracle.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please help me not to live by sight, but by faith in You, in Jesus name.

Romans 11:33

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

MESSAGE

If you understand the way God works, you would have discovered that He usually does things differently from time to time. Even when He does the same thing twice, He could use a new method to do it. For example, in 2 Kings 5:1-14, He asked Naaman to go and wash in river Jordan and after he obeyed, his leprosy was cured. In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus cleansed ten leper, by simply saying "Go and check yourselves with the Priest".

If you think you know how God will do something and you focus your faith and attention in that direction alone, your miracle may pass you by. That is why you have to go to Him without preconceived ideas. His ways are far higher than your ways (Isaiah 55: 8-9). I do know that He may not do it exactly as you have imagined it. Just listen to Him and let Him guide you.

God may not do that thing you are asking Him for instantly as you may expect. He may choose to do it gradually. He may also not do it gradually and decided to do it instantly. All you need to be assured of is that He will do it and whichever method He chooses to apply will be the best method to get it done.

Don't try to box God in. Don't assume that He will give you your miracle the same way He gave it to that fellow who testified in your Church. Don't imagine the entire process in your head and then lose your miracle when things don't go as imagined, like Naaman almost lost his. If you know the process to getting miracle, why disturb God anyway?

If you know that you cannot do it yourself, leave the One who can do it to determine how it should be done.

Don't box God in. I pray He will surprise you pleasantly, even before to this year ends, in Jesus' name.

Don't try to box God in; He works in mysterious ways.
