4.Father, no matter the level of power and anointing You take me in life, please, give me the grace to keep a low profile, help me not to be desperate for public attention and recognition, in Jesus' name.

5.Father, by the time You're ready to take me from the backside of the desert and showcase me to the world, let me be filled with the spirit of humility, and let my life become too hot for the enemies to handle, in Jesus' name.

6.Father, when You bring me into limelight, please, surround me with Your fire and, shield and protect me from the fiery darts and arrows of the enemies, in Jesus' name.

7.Father, go ahead of me and straighten every crooked path and give me the grace to always put on Your whole armour, and let every wolf on my path be paralysed and subdued, completely, in Jesus' name.

8.Father, please, give me the grace to live soberly and be vigilant and let me not be a prey for the devil to be devoured, in Jesus' name.

9.Father, as I grow in power, stature and grace in Your kingdom, let my life and lifestyle be such that will point the attention of men unto You and not unto myself, in Jesus' name.

10.Father, bless your son, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, surround him with  Your fire  and let every evil arrow targeted against him and any member of his family, backfire upon the enemies, in Jesus' name.

11.Father, bless Your son that You have been using to prepare these prayer points, beyond measures, and all those who have been rebroadcasting them, in Jesus' name.

12.Father, let every challenge, hindrance and obstacle of getting these prayer points across to Your children, timely, and on daily basis be removed, in Jesus' name.

5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.

13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

MESSAGE

The boy in the Bible reading who gave his lunch to Jesus Christ was not named. One would expect that a boy like that who was selfless enough to share his lunch, through which over 5,000 people were miraculously fed, would have been named in the Bible, but the Scriptures are silent about his name. Not only he; many of the vessels of honour in the Bible were not named. For example, the slave girl in 2 Kings 5:1-3 who brought salvation to Syria was not named, the fellow who the disciples saw casting out demons in Jesus’ name in Luke 9:49 was also not named. This tells us that the work of God is not a popularity contest. You don’t have to be popular to be relevant and of great use to the Kingdom of God. When I see people struggling to be seen and recognized publicly while doing the work of God I wonder if they understand the nature of the assignment they are called to. That’s why in Mark 1:45, when the leper who Jesus healed went around telling everyone about his healing, Jesus could not enter the city openly again. Jesus know that the spotlight was going to distract Him from the real work which He was to do, so He stayed in the desert to carry out His assignment.

When you read Mark 1:10-13, you will see one of the dangers of being publicly recognized. The moment God bragged about Jesus Christ to the hearing of the public, Satan heard and a season of trials and temptations began for Jesus immediately. In 1 Samuel 13:14, Samuel announced that God had found a man after His heart to replace Saul. Immediately Satan heard that, he began to look out for who that man was. In 1 Samuel 16:11, when Samuel said nobody would sit until David arrived to be anointed, Satan knew it was David, so he raise Goliath against Israel so that David would not fulfill his God-given destiny. David killed Goliath and it became abundantly clear that David was loved and chosen by God, so the devil raised Saul against him and a season of trials began for David during which he resorted to hiding in caves. The moment you are hailed in public, the devil marks you for trial. Be wise; one of the prayer points in the Lord’s prayer is, “lead us not into temptation”.

Don’t bother about public recognition. Just face the work that God wants you to do, not the spotlight.

KEY POINT

The spotlight attracts the attention of the devil; stay away from it as much as you can.

36 And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37 And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39 Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

MESSAGE

In the Bible reading for today, a Pharisee invited Jesus to his house to eat. It would be correct to conclude that this Pharisee was a firm believer in Jesus as the true Son of God, but that was not true. Of all the people in the house that day, it was this Pharisee – the host, who thought in his heart that Jesus was not a true prophet when the woman with the alabaster box washed His feet. This shows that the Pharisee was not really a firm believer in Jesus in the first place, yet he acted like one. To make matters worse, after the Pharisee had concluded in his heart that Jesus was not really sent of God, Jesus called him and he responded, “Master”. What a hypocrite! On the outside, he called Jesus Master, but on the inside, he said, “This man is not a man of God”.

I am certain that you have one or two people like this Pharisee around you. I pray that the Almighty God will reveal them to you, in Jesus’ name. Thank God Jesus was very discerning. He knew straightaway what the Pharisee was thinking. Many people have become victims of their enemies because they thought they were their friends. May that not be your portion, in Jesus’ name. Be careful of the people who call themselves your friends. It doesn’t matter how nice they seem to you, not every victory is celebrated publicly, because the celebration could fuel their hatred for you even more and lead to them planning an attack against you. If you don’t believe me, ask Joseph, Joseph was always quick to tell his brothers his great dreams. He thought that since they were his brothers, then they would be happy for him, but he was wrong.

Yes, it is important that you share testimonies about God’s goodness to you but you must seek divine wisdom to know what to share and when to share it as not everyone will be happy for you. You must also always keep certain secrets to yourself, especially when other people’s knowledge of those secrets can greatly affect your life and destiny.

Samson thought Delilah was his friend. She seemed to genuinely be in love with him, and he felt relaxed around her. He told her the secret of his power and this led to his destruction as she revealed it to his enemies (Judges 16: 18-21). Some of the people who profess great love for you may actually be friends with your enemies; don’t share your secrets with them!

KEY POINT

9.Father, I soak all the testimonies that I have shared in the blood of Jesus, perfect them and let no power be able to tamper or use them against me; and give me more testimonies, in Jesus name.

1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper.

2 And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

4 And one went in, and told his lord, saying, Thus and thus said the maid that is of the land of Israel.

5 And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.

6 And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, Now when this letter is come unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent Naaman my servant to thee, that thou mayest recover him of his leprosy.

8 And it was so, when Elisha the man of God had heard that the king of Israel had rent his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

10 And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.

11 But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.

12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? may I not wash in them, and be clean? So he turned and went away in a rage.

13 And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?

14 Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

15 And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him: and he said, Behold, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a blessing of thy servant.

16 But he said, As the LORD liveth, before whom I stand, I will receive none. And he urged him to take it; but he refused.

17 And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules' burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.

18 In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmon, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.

19 And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.

MESSAGE

Testimonies are powerful - so powerful that they can birth many other great things. Whenever you lock up your testimony in your heart and refuse to share it, you have no idea how many other great things you are actually locking up.

In the Bible reading for today, the little girl had every reason to keep her mouth shut, being a mere slave, but she shared the testimony of the awesome power of her God. That simple testimony birthed many more which include the healing of Naaman and his conversion from serving idols to worshipping the Most High God.

It was the testimonies Bartimaeus had heard in the past that birthed his own testimonies (Mark 10:46-52). When you share your testimony, you are helping to raise the faith of other people to also receive a miracle from God. I remember when I just joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God and I would hear people talk about the healing power of the Lord. I found it hard to believe that one could get healed without medication. In fact, my thought was, “you people have shown me the way to heaven; please don’t try to get me there faster than necessary”. However, one day, I saw an old man who was always bent double due to a disease, standing and walking upright. I was shocked, so when it was announced that he would be sharing his testimony of divine healing at the evening service, I was the first to arrive. By the time I heard his testimony, my faith arose and I also began to walk in divine health from then. Your testimony is a link to someone else’s testimony, so don’t hide it.

Secondly, testimonies draw people to become members of the Kingdom of God. Jesus said in John 4:48 that some people will not believe the gospel unless they see signs and wonders.

Share your testimonies with unbelievers, let them know how great your God is, let them realize what they are missing when they refuse to surrender their lives to Him. The young girl in the Bible reading today shared her testimony with unbelievers and ended up winning them to God. Your testimony may be all that you need to win that fellow in your office or neighbourhood to Christ; be sure to share it today.

 

ACTION POINT

Share a testimony of God's goodness and power with at least one unbeliever today. You can even do it on social media.

Adeboye,. but by one of his numerous disciples, of Christ, who was inspired and mandated by the Holy Spirit, effective, January 1st, 2015, to start writing these prayer points, based on the Open Heavens Daily Devotional, authored by Pastor E. A. Adeboye.

Some of the prayer points are deep spiritually and may not be understood by carnal minds.

If you want to be blessed from these prayer points, you must first, surrender Your life, to the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself, by saying this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I come to You with a deeply repentant heart, please, forgive me all my sins. I surrender my life to you, today, and, I accept You, as my personal Lord and Saviour. Please, come into my life and save my soul from eternal destruction in hell fire. In Jesus' name, I pray.”

Prayer Points: 

1.Thank You, Father, for the salvation of my soul from eternal destruction in hell fire.

2.Father, in anyway I have fallen short of your glory, please, have mercy and forgive me; let Your mercy prevail over any judgement of sin in my life, in Jesus' name.

3.Father, please, deliver me from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, in Jesus' name.

4.Father, please, give me the grace to resist temptations from the pit of hell, to watch videos and movies, that could trigger fleshly lusts and immoral thoughts, in me, in Jesus' name.

5.Father, fill me to the brim with Your Holy Spirit, such that, there will be no room for the flesh to operate, in Jesus' name.

6.Father, let the Holy Spirit take  dominion and preeminence over my life, and let all the activities of the flesh be completely subdued, in Jesus' name.

7.Father, give me the grace to always keep my body under the control and authority of the Holy Spirit, so that after I have preached to others, I will not be a castaway, in Jesus' name.

8.Father, empower me to place my focus and attention on things that are above and not on the  ephemeral and mundane things of this world, in order to weaken the flesh and make my spirit stronger and dominant, in Jesus' name.

9.Father, help me to always give the things of Your kingdom priority, over and above my personal needs and ambition; empower me to always seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, in all things, in Jesus' name.

10.Father, bless your son, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, and use him more for Your glory, in Jesus' name.

11.Father, bless Your son that You have been using to prepare these prayer points, beyond measures, and all those who have been rebroadcasting them, in Jesus' name.

12.Father, let every challenge, hindrance and obstacle of getting these prayer points across to Your children, timely, and on daily basis be removed, in Jesus' name.

13.Your Personal petitions.

15.Thank you Father for answered prayers.
