8.Father, please don’t reverse any of the promises You made concerning me, and don’t let Your Holy Spirit depart from me, in the mighty name of Jesus.

9.Father, empower me by Your grace to make holiness my lifestyle, to worship You alone, and to give sacrificially, to Your cause, in Jesus' name.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; Genesis 22:17

 15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

 

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

 

 

MESSAGE:

Only the blessings that come from God are irreversible. This is because divine blessings are usually attached to conditions like we see today's Bible reading. When you meet these conditions, the Lord will then show Himself mighty in your life and nobody will be able to reverse your blessings except God Himself. God can reverse your blessing if you default in the terms of the covenant. For example, God reversed His promise to Eli because he and his sons failed to live within the terms of the covenant that made them priests (1 Samuel 2:30).

  

If God decides to bless you and you become unfaithful, He can change a blessing toa curse. He is a Jealous God. He says in Exodus20:5-6:

“...I the  Lord  thy God  am  a  jealous  God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the  third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

 

God's faithfulness to the promise He made to Abraham is seen in Genesis 26 and 35 respectively.  He reconfirmed that His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is an everlasting one. God is not unstable, hence whatsoever He says, He will do. However, before you can enjoy these irreversible blessings, there are certain conditions you must fulfil. First, you must have an unusual love towards your Maker. Then, you must also be committed to holiness, worship and sacrificial giving. All these attributes are found in Jesus Christ and would rub off on anyone who accepts Him as their personal Lord and Savior. Colossians 1:19-21 says:

“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.”

 

Accept Jesus today, if you haven't. If you have, continue to live by His celling, as we see in Matthew 11:28-30 that it may be well with you.

Father, please don't reverse any of the promises You made concerning me, and don't let Your Holy Spirit depart from me, in the mighty name of Jesus.

THEME: TWO-EDGED RECONCILIATION.

  

MEMORISE:

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.                 

Ephesians 4:32

 

READ:  2 Corinthians 5:18-20

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

 

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

 

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

 

MESSAGE:

Since Adam and Eve fell and decided to love what God hated, sin brought enmity between man and God (Genesis 3:6). Unfortunately, this gap has continued to widen because of the lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and pride of life that are still part of man today (l John 2:15-16).

  

God however, in His mercy, decided to reconcile mankind to Himself by offering His Son- Jesus, to die for the sins of the world. He wants to make children out of humans and like the father of the prodigal son, God is patiently waiting for man to come home to eternal bliss.

Matthew 5:9says:

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

 

Who are the peacemakers? The peacemakers are those who acknowledge their enmity with God, and so forsake their sinful lifestyle and begin to live a life pleasing to God. In 2 Corinthians 5:18-19, Paul said:

 

"And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

  

Have you been reconciled with the Lord, your Maker? Do not forget that blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called children of God (Matthew 5:9). After reconciling with God, you must also make efforts to be at peace with anyone who has offended you or whom you have offended. The kind of reconciliation that would qualify anyone for Heaven must be two-edged, as we see in the memory verse for today.

 

Forgiveness is also key to perfect reconciliation. We cannot be reconciled with God if He does not forgive us; but He did so graciously.

 

We too must forgive one another for our reconciliation to be complete.

  

ACTION POINT:

Reconcile with God through genuine repentance today if you are not born again. Also, reconcile with your estranged brother or sister today before it is too late.

 OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

  

DATE:   SATURDAY 24TH APRIL 2021.

  

THEME: GOOD SUCCESS.

  

MEMORISE:

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of  fools shall destroy them. PProverbs 1:32

 

 READ:  Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

  

MESSAGE:

There is good success and there is bad success. I know this because Proverbs10:22 say:

 "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."

  

From the above, we can infer that there can be a 'blessing' with attendant sorrow because it is not from the Lord. This kind of success is bad. This may explain why God had to be exact in the type of success He promised in Joshua 1:8.

 

 No one can tamper with good success that comes from God as He has assured His children of divine protection (Psalm 91). If after a breakthrough, you are afraid of calamity, perhaps the source of that 'breakthrough' is not God.

 

Genesis 26:12-14 bears record of the good success that Isaac recorded. He was so blessed that even the Philistines envied him. The secret of his good success is found in Genesis 26:2-6. We see that Isaac obeyed the Lord, stayed where God asked him to and became prosperous as a result. If you obey God all the way, good success wi11 not be far from you.

 

 You should pay attention to the Bible reading for today. For Joshua to have good success, God commanded him to keep the book of the law in his mouth and to also meditate therein constantly, so as to "observe to do according to" the content. James 1:25 says:

 "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer but a doer of work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

 

Thus, if you want to be blessed of the Lord and obtain good success this season, you must be a doer of God's word.

 

 PRAYER POINT:

Father, please grant me good success in all my endeavors this year, in the mighty name of Jesus.
