TOPIC: DON'T STOP LEARNING

MEMORISE

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness. - (Acts 13:36)

24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

MESSAGE

Today's Bible reading tells us the story of Apollos, a knowledgeable fellow who lived in Ephesus. He was described as an eloquent man who was mighty in the Scriptures. If he had lived in the present age, he might have been called a bishop, apostle, or reverend. Apollos was well-grounded in the Scriptures and was bold enough to teach people in the synagogue. However, when Aquila and Priscila got to Ephesus, they noticed some gaps in the things he knew, and they took him aside to teach him the word of God more perfectly. Apollos was not proud, nor did he disregard the things they were teaching him. Instead, he listened to them and added what they taught him to the things he already knew. Consequently, the man who started as one who was mighty in the Scriptures ended as someone who was able to mightily convince the Jews that Jesus is the Christ through the Scriptures.

Apollos was teachable and humble enough to learn from others. Beloved, are you teachable? Are you humble enough to learn from people who might not be as popular, prayerful, or educated as you are?

One of the greatest tragedies a person can experience is to stop learning. Proverbs 1:5 says, "A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:" Your thirst for knowledge determines your level of growth. You must never get to a point where you think you are too knowledgeable to learn more. When the widow in (2 Kings 4:1-8) began to pour the remaining oil from her pot into the vessels she had borrowed, it continued to flow until there were no more empty vessels. I believe that the oil would have continued to flow if she had more empty vessels to pour it into. This is a clear example of what will happen to anyone who thinks he or she is full of knowledge; such a person will stop growing.

Beloved, there is always something more to learn. No matter how knowledgeable you think you are in the things of God, there will always be more of Him to unravel. (2 Peter 3:18 says, "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ..." Don't allow what you know to stop you from learning what you need to know. I pray that the Lord will keep revealing more of Himself to you, even as you keep seeking to know more and more of Him.

TOPIC : FOCUS ON THE UNSEEN

MEMORISE: 

"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." 

2 Corinthians 4:18

BIBLE READING: HEBREWS 11:1-3

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

MESSAGE:

Today's Bible reading makes us understand that everything on earth was framed by God's word. This means that the things which you can see were made from things that are unseen. This is why God wants His children to focus more on spiritual things than physical things. In today's memory verse, Paul encourages us to fix our eyes on things which are not seen. Therefore, if you are going through a challenge, for example, instead of focusing only on what you can see physically, ask God to show you what is behind the challenge you are facing. Go to Him in prayers, and, like Rebekah did, ask Him, "If it be so, why am I thus?" (Genesis 25:22).

Whenever there is a challenge, many people waste their time focusing only on what they can see physically. However, if they go to God in prayers and ask that their eyes be opened to see the unseen, He will answer them and also guide them towards the right solution.

In Luke 15:11-32, Jesus told the parable of the prodigal son who wasted his inheritance by living irresponsibly in a faraway country. Before long, he began to be in want and struggled to make ends meet. Things got so bad that he thought of eating food that was meant for pigs because he had nothing to eat. When he came to the end of himself, however, he decided to return to his father, and all his problems disappeared instantly. He would have continued struggling and running in circles if he had not changed his focus by returning to his father.

Beloved, if you keep facing the same challenge or struggling with an issue, you might need a change of focus. You need to fix your gaze on your heavenly Father by calling on Him in prayer. It doesn't take God ages to answer prayers, but when your focus is on the wrong direction, you will not be able to see the provisions He has made for you to overcome whatever challenge you are facing. All God wants you to do is to fix your gaze on Him so He can show you the path to your victory and release His blessings upon you. I pray that the Almighty God will help you to keep your gaze fixed on Him at all times, so you will be empowered to walk in total victory perpetually.

PRAYER POINT:

TOPIC: SEEING EYES 3

MEMORISE

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, - (Ephesians 1:18)

8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.

9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.

10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.

11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?

12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.

13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.

14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

18 And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

19 And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.

20 And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

21 And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?

22 And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.

23 And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.

MESSAGE

In today's Bible reading, Elisha was in Israel, but he could hear what the king of Syria was planning far away in his bedchamber. As a result, all the king's battle plans against Israel failed. The Syrian king was seriously disturbed by that, so he sent an army to capture the prophet. It didn't occur to him that the fellow who could hear the things he was planning in his bedroom must have some serious spiritual backing. When Elisha's servant saw the army that was sent to arrest his master, he became agitated and ran to Elisha, shaking with fear. He could only see the troop of Syrian soldiers that surrounded his master's house, but he couldn't see the horses and chariots of fire of the angelic hosts that surrounded them. To put his servant's mind at rest, however, Elisha prayed, "Lord, open his eyes that he may see" (2 Kings 6:17). I am sure that immediately the servant's eyes were opened and he saw the mighty host surrounding them, his fear disappeared.

Beloved, what you see will always affect how you respond to situations. If all you can see is what is happening in the natural realm, you will feel threatened by challenges, just like Elisha's servant. You will continually live in fear until your eyes are open to see that God has prepared a table before you in the presence of your enemies (Psalm 23:5). You don't have to be afraid of the devil because He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4). Don't tremble in the presence of the one who should be trembling when he sees you. (1 Peter 5:8) says that he is moving around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Lions typically prefer to target weak prey; therefore, if you see yourself as being weak and vulnerable, the devil may be encouraged to attack you. However, if you understand the power of the One who lives inside you, he will stay away from you.

Child of God, do you see yourself as being too strong for any problem to overcome, or do you panic when faced with challenges? I pray that your eyes will be opened from now on, so you can see the power that backs you up as a child of God and cease to be afraid of challenges that come your way.

‎Lord Jesus, I come to You with a deeply repentant heart, please, forgive me all my sins. I surrender my life to you, today, and, I accept You, as my personal Lord and Saviour. Please, come into my life and save my soul from eternal destruction in hell fire, in Jesus' name I pray.

‎PRAYER POINTS 

‎✓Father, thank You for creating me with eyes to see physically, thank You because by Your mercy You will take care of all Your children with eye problems.

‎

‎✓Father, please grant me the grace to see beyond the physical; give me eyes to see, so I might begin to experience relief in any situation I had previously experienced hardship, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please open my eyes to see a way out of any wilderness situation I am now, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please in any area of my life that I am weak and deserted, open my eyes to Your word that I might find strength and companionship in the Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name 

‎✓Father, please in any area that it seems there is no way out, intervene and open my eyes to see the solutions to the challenges around me, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please don't let be blind to the solutions of the challenges around me; may I not die wandering in the wilderness of life without seeing the solutions to my problems, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please give me seeing eyes so I won't walk in darkness; and may I not suffer lack and poverty in the midst of the blessings all around me, in Jesus' name 

‎

‎✓Father, please may I not live at the mercy of others. Open my eyes to see so I won't stumble and fall in the journey of life, in Jesus' name 

‎

‎✓Father, please give me seeing eyes so I can see Your numerous blessings and enjoy Your never-ending goodness. Let an end come to every form of confusion and emptiness in my life, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please give me seeing eyes to see all the opportunities around and ahead of me, in Jesus' name.

‎✓Lord, please give me seeing eyes so I can walk in Your light and not stumble in darkness, in Jesus' name

✓Father, thank You for the life of Your son, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.

‎

Help him to remain in Your light and never stumble, in Jesus' name. Bless his children (biological and spiritual). Help him to continue to produce sons and daughters to Your glory, in Jesus' name 

‎

‎✓Father, please bless Your son that You have been using to prepare these prayer points, beyond measure, and all those who have been broadcasting them, in Jesus' name.

‎

‎✓Father, please let every challenge, hindrance and obstacles of getting these prayer points across to Your children, timely, and on daily basis be removed, in Jesus' name.
